Southern Oregon Gold Rush Towns & Natural Wonders

When you visit Southern Oregon, you will find that Mother Nature has really outdone herself here. Of course we are partial to the beautiful and untamed Rogue River, but there are many other natural wonders such as Crater Lake, the Umpqua River and the “Highway of Waterfalls” to explore. Travel Southern Oregon has an exceptional website with ideas of how you can extend your adventure beyond our trip down the Rogue.

This region is filled with wineries, food trails, world famous theaters and outdoor recreation. In Southern Oregon, there’s an adventure everywhere you turn.

Some Drift Adventures favorites:

Ashland - Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, this charming outdoor town is also one of the top 5 wine regions in the WORLD, yes you read that right, the world! Check Travel Ashland’s website for ideas of how to extend your trip - there’s definitely something for everyone in Ashland.

Jacksonville - We stumbled upon this darling town on a road trip through Southern Oregon years ago. This historic gold rush town is full of culture, wonderful independent shops and a variety of eateries.

If you decide to stay in Jacksonville, you can choose from many of the featured bed and breakfast locations and charming inn’s. We like the Wine Country Inn for its hospitality and walkability to town and great restaurants!
