Rogue Canyon Adventure Itinerary
Your Rogue Canyon Adventure begins at 9am on your start date at Grave Creek Boat Launch, about a 45 minute drive from downtown Grants Pass. Once you arrive at the boat launch, you will meet your guides who will help get all of your gear to the boats. If you drive your own car, you will leave it at the boat launch and the shuttle drivers will drive it to the take out ($135 per car, not included in trip price).
There are 2 guests and one guide per drift boat. Once we load everyone in, we will set adrift on the mighty Rogue for your 4 day adventure.
Day 1
Lunch (around 1pm) - A riverside lunch will be prepared for you by your friendly guides. We serve a deli lunch spread, complete with salads and dessert. The lunch break is also a great time to take a swim, hike, throw a line in the river or kick back and take a nap!
Lodging, Dinner & Breakfast: Day one you will float to the shores of Black Bar Lodge where you will enjoy a wonderful dutch oven and BBQ dinner and relax on the deck with your group. When it’s time for “lights out” get ready to slumber into one of the log cabins complete with a private bathroom. You will never see the stars so bright as you will see at Black Bar!
When you wake up, follow the smell of freshly brewed coffee where the guides will serve you a hearty breakfast before you head out for the day.
Day 2
Riverside Lunch (around 1pm) - Similar to day 1, your guides will serve a deli lunch and also cook up some of the fresh fish from the morning catch. This lunch spot holds a lot of Rogue River history. Here you can hike to see author Zane Grey’s cabin that he built on an old mining claim in 1926. Grey, author of adventure novels and lover of the outdoors, especially the Rogue River, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed steelhead, salmon and trout fishing on the Rogue.
Lodging, Dinner & Breakfast: Boasting a large deck overlooking the river, you will feel right at home at Marial Lodge on night 2. This lodge is full of history, personality and known for its great eats. Make sure to keep the windows open at night to hear the soothing sounds of the river.
In the morning you will hear the hustle and bustle in the kitchen as your lodge hosts prepare one of their famous breakfasts. You might even meet some new friends!
Day 3
Riverside Lunch (around 1pm) - Get ready for the final deli spread and fish fry!
Lodging, Dinner & Breakfast: The final night of our adventure, you will drift to Illahe Lodge. Illahe is a classic fishing lodge with amazing views. You will love the feel of this family home complete with a rich history and lore of the Rogue River. Don’t miss Coleen’s cinnamon rolls as you take in the views on your final morning on the Wild & Scenic Rogue River.
Day 4
After you leave Ilahee you will be greeted with a variety of differing terrain as you float to the takeout. Make sure to throw a line in, as day 4 can be a great morning for those pesky half pounders.
Our final destination is Foster Bar in the tiny little town of Agness. This is where your car will be if you had it shuttled. Be sure to hit Cougar Lane Lodge on your way out of town to stock up on road snacks for the trip home!
Leaving Agness:
You are about 27 miles from Gold Beach if you are heading to the coast.
If you’re traveling back to Interstate 5, it’s about 2 hours to Grants Pass, about 2 1/2 hours to Medford on Bear Camp Road.
We have many options and we are here to help you prepare for this special adventure in a magical place.
